What dogs can scooter?

Most dogs can scooter. A dog pulling against his leash is pulling with more force than the same dog pulling a scooter. Dogs weighing 30 pounds can pull a scooter. Dogs weighing less than 30 pounds can pull. Assist them with kicking or peddling or by hitching up two
or more of them. Senior dogs can scooter. Older dogs benefit from exercise, just as older humans do.

Bonus of dogs that pull

Dog Scootering is a good tool to exercise your dog. You can easily assist your dog by helping to kick on hills, etc.

Dogs love to run and oftentimes faster than we can. With the scooter or bike you have the possibility to give your dog an almost “off leas” experience.

Start slow. Get your dog used to the equipment like harness, lines and scooter.  Take your dog on walks and practice commands like gee (right), haw (left) and whoa (slow down). On by is a command to teach which means to keep on moving. No stopping to sniff or say “hello”.

Always keep it fun. Never force your dog to do something it does not like. Keep interactions and training sessions short and fun and build up on that.
