East Meets West Dryland Challenge 2007 in Brainerd, Minnesota Nov 17 - 18

Check out the news coverage of Dryland Mushing race in Minnesota!

Sled dog racers are bringing their “snow-free” form of racing to Brainerd International Raceway for the second annual ISDRA East Meets West Dryland Challenge. Instead of pulling sleds on snow, sled dog teams will compete on a dirt trail by pulling mountain bikes, three-wheel carts and two-wheel scooters. The mushers will complete on a dirt track that ranges in length from a half mile for junior classes to nearly four miles for pro classes.

Mush! Dogs and their owners hit the trails in OC

By DAVE STREGE The Orange County Register

COSTA MESA – Snow? Who needs snow?

Not the huskies in Orange County that live to be on a snowy trail pulling a sled. In Southern California, all they need is the trail - and a pair of wheels for the musher.

Every Saturday and Sunday morning, a group of husky owners convene at Fairview Park, harness the dogs to a scooter and hit the trails in what is called urban mushing or dog scootering.
